"Why is the Republican party so upset that Obama spoke to Planned Parenthood? They vote to fund them every year."

The Gosnell Trial - The Atlantic

This is the best write up I’ve found on the case so far.  It is absolutely sickening.

Shame on the left for politicizing abortion to such an extent that this was allowed to happen for years.

Jack Hunter’s analysis on the Conservative movement, and how it must return to Constitutional Principles; not “moderating” itself, and stopping the ridiculous Trump-Birther-Sharia Law (Santorum-Bachmann) fringe of the party.

Also draws interesting conclusions on how to Constitutionally approach the issues of cannabis reform, same sex marriage, and abortion.

Romney: I Won't Change a Thing in Regards to Abortion

I wonder if CatholicVote will do the right thing and kick in one of those “non-negotiables” on Romney now.

This is what happens when conservatives vote for fake conservatives every four years.

"President Obama, who came to office promising transparency and adherence to the rule of law, has become the first president to claim the legal authority to order an American citizen killed without judicial involvement, real oversight or public accountability."

The Power to Kill - NYTimes.com (via zainyk)

I think this is a falsehood. Every president has carried out these sorts of attacks. Just look at South America in the 1970’s, when a thousand mysterious air accidents killed socialist politician after socialist politician. That was us, ladies and guys.

Obama is the first to publicly and transparently announce that yes: we kill people without trials. We always have, and we likely always will. At least it’s out in the open, now. At least we can confront it.

(via thecallus)

And how precisely do we confront such a problem when the progressive party in American politics appears to agree with the GOP on the matter? When civil libertarians stand alone on this issue, the road to fixing this cancer is most difficult.

(via huskerred)

Pretty sure part of being Pro-Life would mean to oppose assassinating American citizens without due process and proper Constitutional protections.  Someone might want to tell that to the Sweater Vest.

Abortion and Liberty

I came across this short essay by Dr. Ron Paul last night and found it to be fascinating.  Here is an excerpt:

"Legally a fetus is entitled to inheritance, even if the father dies before the birth of the infant.  This has been part of our legal code since 1795.  This certainly gives legal recognition to the fetus and embryo as a person entitled to legal protection under the law.  If we can protect the property of a fetus and guarantee that it be delivered to him even after birth, why can we not guarantee and protect and deliver to him his life as well?  The courts have even ruled that the illegitimate child of a father who died before the birth of the infant was entitled to the father’s Social Security benefits.  This is, of course, not a natural right, but it is a recognition that a person does exist and was afforded”

In all it is about 35 pages and well worth the read.  Thoughts?

I’m considering this.

hmmmm.  Well I’ve already organized a Ron Paul Pub Crawl on this day.  Which is cool because Ron Paul is 100% pro-life.  So with this in spirit.
